WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING:
Video Formats
Transfer your video to digital format for download, or have it written to DVD. Every day, that tape media is deteriorating in quality just by sitting there. Stop the loss of valuable video by converting it to digital files today! We can convert VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, MiniDV, Beta and BetaMax.
We like to remind everyone that old video formats only use, at best, 576 pixels (most 480). While that video will convert over to new formats and be able to fill the screen in a letterboxed mode, it will not be HD quality. It can only work with the video format it was recorded in originally and do the best it can to fill in the gaps. The graphic above will give you an idea of the difference in size quality between all the standards.

Return Media Files Methods & Fees
All data is moved to digital format (.MP4) and placed on USB 3.0/3.1 Flash Drives which can handle large numbers of videos on one drive.
16GB Flash Drive $12.00 (includes transfer costs)
32GB Flash Drive $15.00 (includes transfer costs)
We can also put data on a provided USB Drive, but it must be USB 3.0 standards at a minimum.
We no longer accept USB 2.0 drives as acceptable media due to its extremely slow speeds of transfer and the additional costs that we incur for labor. If it has to be on a USB 2.0 drive, there is a $5.00 charge per flash drive written to.
Rules & Additional Fees
While we will never charge for a blank tape or even a very short video, all other videos that are sent to us are subject to a conversion fee. We are going to assume any media dropped off is to be converted and labor will be put into them to ensure a great quality conversion. Since we do this as a labor of love for our customers and only charge our labor costs, we can’t give credit back for example, when you find out the video is of your ex’s family, haha. We hope you understand.
*MOLD FEES* We may reject any tapes that have mold build up on the tape itself. However, if manageable, we will convert tapes with an extra charge because it requires disassembling the VCR and cleaning after each tape so it does not permanently damage components. That price will be quoted before we do work once we evaluate the level of tape degradation.
